We were delighted to welcome the Honourable Mélanie Joly Canada’s Minister of Industry, to Somru BioScience Inc. for a tour of our growing biomanufacturing facilities. It was an honour to showcase how a PEI founded biotechnology company is contributing to Canada’s expanding life sciences ecosystem through innovation, exports, and advanced biologics research.
My sincere appreciation to MP Sean Casey for taking the time to join the tour and contribute such thoughtful insights. We are also deeply grateful to Prince Edward Island BioAlliance and its leadership, including Charmaine Noonan, Lauren Ledwell and Jason Cleaversmith, along with the entire BioAlliance team and member company Pegasus Biotech Inc. for joining us and for their continued collaboration in strengthening PEI’s bioscience sector.
Canada has the talent. Canada has the science. Now is the time to invest in domestic biomanufacturing scale up, commercialization, and export driven growth building a life sciences economy resilient enough for whatever comes next.
